When paired with a matching oil-free leader pin, both surfaces transfer lubricant to each other, creating a low-friction interface without any external lubrication.
Key properties of the self-lubricating composite:
- Operating temperature: -40°C to +300°C (graphite version) or -40°C to +200°C (PTFE version)
- PV limit: 3.0 N/mm² × m/s (PTFE) to 5.0 N/mm² × m/s (graphite) — within mold leader pin operating range
- Friction coefficient: 0.05-0.15 (vs 0.15-0.30 for dry metal-on-metal)
