How Runner Change Pins Redirect Flow
Flow Redirection Mechanism
In multi-cavity molds, the runner path from the sprue to each cavity may require direction changes between plates. Runner change pins install in cross-plate bores and create a flow channel that transfers resin from one plate level to another.
Why Direction Changes Are Needed
When the sprue is centered but cavities are arranged asymmetrically, or when the runner must pass through an intermediate plate, direction change pins bridge the gap. Without them, the runner layout would require complex machining in the plate surfaces.
