- Parallel Threads (G / Metric): Rely on collar seals. These require **elastomeric O-rings** (NBR for water $\le 80^\circ\text{C}$, FKM for oil $\le 200^\circ\text{C}$) seated inside a machined groove. Do not use thread tape on straight threads.
