How to Specify Inlay Bushings
Inlay bushings must mate precisely with the inlay core pin and the mold plate bore. Three dimensions are critical:

About Inlay Bushings
Inlay bushings and inlay core pins are a matched system. The bushing provides the bore housing that accepts both the pin body and the replaceable tip insert, ensuring each new insert sits in exactly the same position as its predecessor.
Bushing-to-bore concentricity is critical — any misalignment between the bushing and the mold plate bore compounds through the system, potentially causing uneven wear on the insert and the molded feature.
The bushing also serves as a wear interface. It absorbs the mechanical stress from repeated pin insertion and extraction, protecting the significantly more expensive mold plate bore from enlargement over time.
